Carl Erik Rinsch To Direct Keanu Reeves in 47 Ronin
Posted by: Brad Sturdivant
First time director Carl Erik Rinsch will have his work cut out for him as Universal will let him direct the epic samurai warrior tale 47 RONIN. The film famously tells the story of a band of samurai swordsmen in 18th Century Japan that avenge their master’s death. I don’t know if anyone has told this to Rinsch or not, but Keanu Reeves is an American with some Asian lineage. My 18th century Japanese history is a little fuzzy, but I was under the impression that the Japanese didn’t start accepting foreigners until much later and even then, not into their samurai clans. But it’s Hollywood, so I’m sure they’ll make it work.
