Sniff, sniff…I smell something in the air. It smells just like a sinking boat, as in TITANIC. AVATAR must be smelling it too as it managed another $49 million this past weekend, bringing it’s total to $429 million. That’s good enough for7th all time. It should easily move to 4th all time, probably before next weekend. Check out the top 7 of all time below the pic:
1 Titanic $600,788,188
2 The Dark Knight $533,345,358
3 Star Wars $460,998,007
4 Shrek 2 $441,226,247
5 E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial $435,110,554
6 Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace $431,088,301
7 Avatar $429,040,000
The big movie that opened this weekend was DAYBREAKERS, which managed a measly $15 million, signaling that people need a little romance in their vampire movies. Michael Cera x2 was good enough for $7 million. Next week sees the release of THE BOOK OF ELI, which looks pretty decent. Check out the list below for the complete top ten:
