Daniel Craig in Negotiations to Replace Robert Downey Jr. in Cowboys and Aliens

Earlier this week, Robert Downey Jr. announced that he won’t be starring in the upcoming graphic-novel film adaptation. But Dreamworks and Universal are wasting no time finding another A-list star to fill the shoes. Daniel Craig is in talks to star in the film, but questions about the shooting schedule for Bond 23 remain unanswered. The film is about a group of Apache Indians and Western settlers that have to set aside their differences when aliens land in their city. The film will be directed by Jon Favreau.
I like Craig and I like Downey Jr., but if they were going for someone like Downey Jr. then I don’t think Craig is a suitable replacement. I’m assuming they’ll have to alter their original tone of the film to match Craig’s talents, but with Favreau behind the wheel, it should be a decent film.
