George Clooney and Shailene Woodley are The Descendants

ABC’s ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’ star Shailene Woodley may have just caught her big break with a starring role in George Clooney’s next film. The film, entitled THE DESCENDANTS, will be directed by Alexander Payne (SIDEWAYS) and is about a lawyer that gets close to his family after a tragedy. Knowing Payne, there’s sure to be some dark comedy thrown in somewhere. The film is based off the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings.
I’m not that familiar with Woodley or her TV show, but I like Clooney in these darker, slightly comedic roles. And Payne has a knack for tackling complex characters that are strange and quirky.
