In what might be a case of too many stars, Steven Soderbergh has lined up one heck of a cast for his next film, CONTAGION. He doesn’t even have a production company lined up yet and already has Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Marion Cotillard attached to star. The script was written by Scott Z. Burns and must be one heck of a good screenplay. It’s being described as “Traffic meets Bourne Identity” and concerns multiple stories of people dealing with a virus outbreak. I’d imagine that with a cast like this, funding won’t be a problem.
I’m all for star power in a film and I’m even a bigger proponent of getting Soderbergh back to doing big films. I appreciate his smaller movies, but I’m just as excited to see him tackle a massive project.
