Leighton Meester, Catherine Keener and Hugh Laurie are The Oranges

Until this very moment, I couldn’t have picked Leighton Meester out of a lineup. But the ‘Gossip Girl’ star will appear in THE ORANGES with Hugh Laurie and Catherine Keener. The film is about a man’s relationship with the daughter of a family friend. It’s described as a “dramedy”, but I would imagine this film is going to take a dark turn at some point. Jay Reiss and Ian Helfer wrote the script and Julian Farino will direct.
I’ve noticed a lot of cast members from ‘Gossip Girl’ are signing on to movies lately. I never watched one episode all the way through, but the little I have watched was hard to get through. Hugh Laurie I understand because ‘House’ has a huge following, but Leighton Meester? I guess I shouldn’t be too hard on her; she is an attractive woman and maybe she’ll do better with some decent writing.
