Alia Shawkat and Adam Brody set to join Leighton Meester in The Oranges

We just found out about the dramedy THE ORANGES and now we get more casting news as Alia Shawkat (‘Arrested Development’), Adam Brody (COP OUT), and Allison Janney have joined the cast that already includes Leighton Meester, Catherine Keener and Hugh Laurie. We’re still kind of stuck with “almost-stars”, but they definitely have some recognizable names. To recap, the film is about a man that has a relationship with the daughter of a family friend. Julian Farino will be directing.
It’s hard not to love Alia Shawkat, who gave a great performance in the underrated WHIP IT and even though I shouldn’t like him, I actually find Adam Brody to be pretty good. The only drawback to this film is Catherine Keener.
