Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell team up for new comedy

Where has Ryan Gosling been lately? His main squeeze Rachel McAdams is everywhere lately, but he seems to be staying low. He used to be attached to every comic book movie in production, but none of the roles ever panned out for him. Today we learn that he’s going to be starring alongside Steve Carell in an untitled comedy. In it, Gosling will play the smooth best friend while Steve Carell will play a man struggling with his kids. The film will be directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS).
This sounds more like a supporting role for Gosling and oddly similar to Dane Cook’s character in DAN IN REAL LIFE, which this film already sounds too much like. Gosling is no stranger to subtle comedy, but I still enjoy him more in the darker, more serious roles.
