Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kingsley sign on for Martin Scorsese's new film

A while ago, we learned that Marin Scorsese was going to venture into uncharted territory with an adaptation of Brian Selznick’s THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET. This would mark the first time Marty has done a kids’ film and would be a huge departure from his violent dramas he’s been doing lately. Today we learn that Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kinglsey are the first actors to join the project that centers on a young orphan trying to solve a mystery of a broken robot. No, I haven’t read the book and no, I don’t really know what it’s about. But I’m pretty sure that’s the gist of it.
I can’t say I’m too excited for this project and the addition of Cohen and Kinglsey doesn’t do anything to change my mind. I love Marty and he has a good cast so far, but the basic storyline does nothing for me. As with all kids’ movies, the most important casting decision will be that of the young boy and that will make or break the film.
