Sam Claflin joins Johnny Depp in new Pirates Of The Caribbean

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall have cast relatively unknown Sam Claflin as an important role in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES. Claflin will play Philip, a young missionary, next to Johnny Depp who will be reprising his infamous role as Captain Jack Sparrow. No doubt with the magnitude of the Pirate films this will give Claflin his big break into the business, whose previous credits include: THE LOST FUTURE and THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH. Both were made for television and were nowhere near the massive public appeal as PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN.

I will definitely be at the theater to see the fourth installment of the grand spectacle that is THE PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN. However, besides Johnny Depp, I find the films to be a bit tiresome. Thankfully he makes up most of the films. The cast will also include: Geoffrey Rush, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane and Astrid Berges-Frisbey.  The Disney blockbuster is set to open May 20, 2011.
