I’m not going to lie to you; the trailer for the upcoming thriller THE KILLER INSIDE ME looks a little disturbing. It’s not graphically scary or anything, but just the idea of a small town Texas sheriff going around mercilessly killing people is enough to keep you awake at night. The film has an all star cast that includes the still-underrated Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Ned Beatty, Simon Baker and Elias Koteas. Michael Winterbottom (A MIGHTY HEART) is directing from a script by John Curran.
There have been clips from the film and an unofficial trailer floating around for a while, but other than that, this film has flown under the radar. It kind of has that Oscar-y feel to it and I can’t help but wonder if this would do better with a fall release date. As it is, it’s due for a limited release on June 18th.
