Paul Rudd to star in My Idiot Brother

Paul Rudd will be headlining another comedy, this time apparently rehashing his same tried and true awkward, straight guy character that he’s portrayed several times before. In the film MY IDIOT BROTHER, Rudd will play an idealist that’s learning to deal with his overbearing mother that’s invading the lives of his three sisters. Jesse Peretz will be directing the film from a script his sister, Evgenia Peretz wrote.

I like Paul Rudd, so I don’t want it to seem like I’m giving him a hard time, but this role seems to fit in with everything he’s already done. I’m also not thrilled with the storyline as I don’t know how they’re going to work him into the story as his mother goes to each of his sister’s houses and wreaks havoc on their lives. Unless all four siblings live together, which won’t work either.
