David Fincher eyeing Daniel Craig for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

From the moment David Fincher signed on to direct the English language version of Stieg Larsson’s novel, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, everyone has been throwing out names on who should play the male and female leads. The general consensus is that they’ll go with an A-list male lead and an unknown for the young girl. We’ve already heard frequent David Fincher collaborator Brad Pitt being mentioned for the role, but he has yet to accept. Now we hear word that they’re getting ready to make an offer to Daniel Craig.
I thought the Swedish language film was great, so I’m interested to see what Fincher will do with his version. I wouldn’t say Craig is a bad choice, but he wouldn’t be the first actor I’d look at for the role. But whenever Brad Pitt is mentioned for a role, I tend to favor him more than anyone else.
