Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid are set for the Footloose remake

Growing up in the 80’s, there were a couple of films that I watched over and over as a kid. Since I moved around a lot, one of the films that I always identified with was FOOTLOOSE. Watching it now, it’s still a decent flick, even if the warehouse dance sequence is extremely cheesy. Paramount is hoping they can capitalize on that success again as they are insistent on moving forward with a remake and have gone to the piles of unknown actors to take the role of Ren McCormack, made famous by Kevin Bacon in the original. Julianne Hough will star as Ariel, Dennis Quaid will play Reverend Moore and Miles Teller will star as Willard. Craig Brewer (HUSTLE & FLOW) will be handling directing duties.

I like that they went with an unknown for the lead role, but the real question I have is; what music are they going to use? It’d be nice if Brewer could work in ‘Hard Out Here for a Pimp’.
