Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are already breaking records with Twilight: Eclipse

I’m eagerly awaiting the first day ticket sales that should be announced sometime tomorrow afternoon, just to see how much dough TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE will bring in. I have little to no interest in the movie, but since I’ve been reporting news about this movie for a year now, I’m anxious to see what happens to it. Early word is that midnight screenings were selling out all over the world and that theaters had to show 3 a.m. showings to accommodate the demand, so I’m sure the records are just starting to be broken. But Eclipse is officially the widest released film in Hollywood history, showing on 4,416 theaters, beating the record that was just set by IRON MAN 2, which opened on 4,380 screens.

This may seem like a trivial record, but with this many screens, the chances of the film beating the all time opening record is more in reach. As you know the film is now playing in theaters and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed and Dakota Fanning.
