Allison Janney joins Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard in The Help

Allison Janney has been cast in the film adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s best-selling novel THE HELP. Dreamworks Studio is producing and Stockett’s childhood friend, Tate Taylor is directing from his own script. Janney has one of the more impressive resumes in Hollywood, with several award nominations and wins. From television (West Wing) to film (JUNO, AMERICAN BEAUTY), she always is part of a great ensemble.
The story centers around three women in the Deep South in 1962, who work together to overcome their own life challenges. Janney will be joining Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Bryce Dallas Howard. I’m not that familiar with the story but it will be interesting to see how having a talented all female cast in something not called SEX IN THE CITY does at the box-office.
