I really think my parents should have made me read more when I was a kid. It seems like every week there’s a classic children’s book that’s being turned into a movie and I have no idea what the book is about. The first time I ever heard of RAMONA AND BEEZUS was when I saw the trailer. Like Beezus, my first thought when I saw the trailer for THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS was that it was probably published when I was in junior high or something. Nope, Willows was first published in 1908, which means it’s possible my great-grandparents read this as a kid. I say all of that to point out two things; 1) when you have kids, make them read all the classic children’s novels and 2) the first trailer for the animated adaptation of THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS is out.

The film was made by Peter Jackson’s New Zealand based effects studio Weta and is directed by Ray Griggs for a 2012 release. Watch the trailer here.
