Simon Pegg looking to rejoin Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 4

I’m still frustrated with all the hate being cast Tom Cruise’s way because KNIGHT AND DAY didn’t open to $100 million and the thought that an executive could use that as an excuse to not make another Mission Impossible film is just frustrating. But hopefully, Paramount is smarter than that and will go ahead with M:I4 as planned. Even though it technically hasn’t gotten the official greenlight, director Brad Bird is busy assembling his cast. It looks like Simon Pegg is set to reprise his role as the lab nerd Benji Dunn.
We can of course assume Ving Rhames will also be back, who along with Cruise and Pegg would mean three returning characters. Word has been circulating for a while that Paramount is looking to inject a young star to potentially replace Cruise as Ethan Hunt in future films, so that casting announcement should happen sooner than later, especially if they want to stick to shooting this thing in September.
