Sam Worthington is officially Dan Dare

We heard the rumor a few months ago that Sam Worthington was going to be starring as Dan Dare in an upcoming film adaptation, but today we get official word that the actor is going to star as the daring, intergalactic pilot. Dan Dare was actually a British TV series back in the 50’s titled ‘Dan Dare: Pilot of the Future’ and that show is usually compared to the American Buck Rogers. Interestingly enough, the original show was set in the 90’s, which is another reminder of how disappointingly little we’ve advanced technologically in the past 50 years.
Worthington will be reuniting with his CLASH OF THE TITANS producer Basil Iwanyk for the project, who will also be returning for CLASH OF THE TITANS 2. Worthington has advanced quite far in Hollywood in just a short amount of time, already forming a production company (Full Clip Productions) and now even teaming with Radical Publishing to develop content for comic books.
