I think it’s funny how a movie directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig is generating more attention because of who’s playing Lisbeth Salander than anything else. That just goes to show you how powerful of a character author Stieg Larsson created. Not only that, but it tells you how great a job Noomi Rapace did in playing her in the original, Swedish version. But today is interesting because we already get our first look at Rooney Mara in full Salander getup. Although she didn’t spend that much time on the bike, the bike, short, black hair and pale skin are just a few of the physical qualities I associate with Salander. From that standpoint, Rooney looks to be doing well so far. And yeah, these pictures aren’t that great, but they’re the best we have so far.
The film stars Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright and Stellan Skarsgard and is due to hit theaters on December 21st, 2011.
