The Last Airbender coming to Blu-ray in November

M. Night Shyamalan’s foray into mainstream, non-twisty endings is hitting store shelves this fall. THE LAST AIRBENDER stars Jackson Rathbone (aka Jasper Cullen from the Twilight Saga), Dev Patel, Cliff Curtis and Noah Ringer. The film will be released on Blu-ray November 16, 2010, just in time for Thanksgiving. The film will come out with two Blu-ray editions, one will be a BD/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack and the other just a single disc edition. The film was released at the theaters in 3D, but there is no word on when (or if) if will be available on 3D in the future. In case you didn’t catch the trailer, THE LAST AIRBENDER follows a young Avatar who must stop evil forces from destroying his nation. It’s based off the popular Nickelodeon cartoon series “Avatar”, but as you know, that name was already made famous by Mr. James Cameron.

The film was successful at theaters, but given the popularity of the cartoon, it probably wasn’t what Paramount was hoping for. And M. Night Shyamalan needs a hit in the worse way. Maybe this will find a bigger audience on Blu-ray. Special features for the film (mostly on the combo pack) include:
