Zach Snyder will direct new Superman with Christopher Nolan producing

Zach Snyder has been chosen to direct the new Superman movie. The Caped Crusader director Christopher Nolan will produce the Man of Steel film for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.  David Goyer and Nolan have been working on the script and have had a supposedly plethora of rumored directors in mind. The dust has settled and the winner is Snyder who has definite experience, style and box office cred with films like 300 and THE WATCHMEN. With a guy like that directing and a guy like Nolan (INCEPTION, THE DARK KNIGHT NIGHT) overseeing the project, I have to believe this will be good.

Another juicy bit of information on the famous DC Superhero flick is that the main villain is said to be General Zod, played by Terence Stamp in SUPERMAN I and II. Snyder will first finish SUCKERPUNCH, which is due to hit theaters March 25, 2011. Then it’s hard at work on the fast moving Superman film. Snyder reportedly turned down directing duties on the failed SUPERMAN RETURNS (I actually thought it was alright) but seems pretty excited about making a new version this time around.
