Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have teamed up for the 3D motion capture film THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: SECRET OF THE UNICORN. The collaboration has Spielberg directing and Jackson producing in what should be quite the enjoyable movie going experience. The cast has been set and the voices will be provided by: Jamie Bell, Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones, Mackenzie Crook, Carey Elwes and Daniel Mays. The film follows the story of Tintin (Bell), a young reporter whose thirst for a good story puts him into a series of adventures. Spielberg had this to say about his film:
The first part of the film, which is the most mysterious part, certainly owes much to not only film noir but the whole German Brechtian theatre — some of our night scenes and our action scenes are very contrasty. But at the same time the movie is a hell of an adventure.
The film is set to hit theaters December 23, 2011. I’m actually not a fan of this type of animation, but I may have to give it a whirl with Spielberg and Jackson attached.
