Steve Carell to star in new comedy Imagine

A couple of months ago we posted news about Steve Carell playing real life rock star Dennis Lambert in OF ALL THE THINGS. Now comes news that Carell will be playing a rock star’s love child in the comedy IMAGINE. The story will be about an aging rock star that discovers he fathered a son (Steve Carell). The reason for the discovery is from an unopened letter from John Lennon. I’m not sure why Lennon would have that information but I’m sure it’s an important part of the storyline thus inspiring the title.
IMAGINE will be the directing debut of Dan Fogelman, who also penned the script. Fogelman is also the screenwriter on Carell’s upcoming newly titled CRAZY. STUPID. LOVE. But the big question is who will play Carell’s sixty-something year old rocker dad?
