Carey Mulligan will join Leonardo DiCaprio in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby

Carey Mulligan has been cast as Daisy Buchanan in the famous literature to film remake THE GREAT GATSBY. Mulligan will play the manipulative heroine with whom Gatsby falls in love and begins an affair. Mulligan will star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio who will play Gatsby. Baz Luhrmann (MOULIN ROUGE) will direct and has already assembled an impressive cast with those two leads. Long time DiCaprio pal Tobey Maguire is rumored to play Nick Carraway, the novel’s narrator and best friend to Gatsby.
Mulligan most recently starred in WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS and blew audiences away with her talent in last year’s AN EDUCATION. With DiCaprio, Mulligan and possibly Maguire attached to this famous piece of literature, I have no doubt THE GREAT GATSBY is destined for greatness. Then you throw Baz Luhrmann in the mix and it’s sure to be uniquely entertaining as well.
