New photo from The Smurfs

Just last week we showed you a poster for the upcoming film THE SMURFS and today we’re gonna do you one better and give you an actual photo! Below you can see an image of the Smurfs in all their CGI glory. THE SMURFS follows our tiny blue friends as they are on the run from Gargamel who has chased them from their village into New York City. They must find their way home with the help of some live action stars that include: Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria, Jayma Mays and Sofia Vergara. Look for THE SMURFS in theaters on August 3, 2011.

I loved the Smurfs growing up and am really looking forward to this film. For me it’s right up there with The Muppet movie that’s coming out Thanksgiving weekend. I predict 2011 to be a good year for movies, especially if you want to revisit some old childhood friends.
