Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson and Matthew Macfadyen in a new photo from The Three Musketeers

Since the recent Hollywood fad is to either come up with sequels to older films, remake films or adapt films from books, it’s no surprise that Summit Entertainment has decided to give us a new version of the classic tale THE THREE MUSKETEERS.  I’m sure everyone knows the story, but just in case you missed one of the films in the past, the plot follows a young man D’Artagnan (played  by Logan Lerman) who wants to be a part of the royal bodyguards The Musketeers.  When he goes to their headquarter he discovers that they have been disbanded and he must partner up with the three best in order to protect the royals and disrupt a plot that threatens the French throne. The film stars: Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson, Matthew Macfadyen, Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz and Milla Jovovich and comes to theaters on October 14, 2011.

I may get a lot of flack for this, but when I was young I loved the 1993 version of THE THREE MUSKETEERS starring Chris O’Donnell, Charlie Sheen, Keifer Sutherland and Oliver Platt.  It’s one of those childhood favorites that can’t really be topped for me, so needless to say I’m not really looking forward to this remake.
