Judi Dench will star with Leonardo DiCaprio in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar

Clint Eastwood’s biopic entitled J. EDGAR is really starting to shape up in the casting section (hopefully the story won’t bomb like HEREAFTER) while today we learn from Mr. Eastwood himself that Judi Dench is for sure on board to star along with Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer, Damon Herriman and possibly Charlize Theron (still no confirmation on her yet). The film will follow the story of J. Edgar Hoover (DiCaprio), his closest associate and gay lover Clyde Tolson (Hammer) and Bruno Hauptmann’s (Herriman), the man who was accused of kidnapping and murdering the Lindbergh baby, case as it was followed by the FBI. Filming will begin in February with a potential 2011 release.

This casting just gets better and better and this is quickly making it’s way to the top of my “gotta see it opening week” list of 2011. If DiCaprio performs as well as he did in INCEPTION (which he will) then I would be shocked if he doesn’t get a nod for J.EDGAR during awards season.
