Keira Knightley, Jessica Biel and Anne Hathaway are testing for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises

Quite possibly one of the hottest (and maybe most coveted) roles for a female this year is a role in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming flick THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. You may have heard a little bit about it since, you know, it’s a Batman movie. We had previously reported that a few actresses were pegged to talk to Nolan about and upcoming part, those actresses included: Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley and Anne Hathaway. The list has been narrowed down and some actresses have either passed on the project or the project has passed on them. The new list of ladies who are going to talk to Nolan about participating in the film include: Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway (the only two still in the running), Jessica Biel, Kata Mara, Gemma Arterton and newcomer Charlotte Riley. Christopher Nolan is keeping mum on the whole process, but we do know that there are two female leads available in the film: villain and lover to Bruce Wayne.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is scheduled for a release date of July 20, 2012.
