Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander in more pictures from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Just yesterday we gave you a first really good look at Rooney Mara transformed into Lisbeth Salander and today we have even more pictures courtesy of W Magazine. For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, Lisbeth Salander is the main character in the Millennium series from Swedish author Stieg Larsson. Actress Rooney Mara beat out several tough contenders that included big names such as Scarlett Johansson. Rooney Mara will take on the character in three films that will begin with THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, directed by none other than David Fincher. THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO hits theaters on December 21st, 2011.

I was skeptical about sweet Rooney Mara from THE SOCIAL NETWORK tackling such a dark and hardcore character like Lisbeth Salander, but I have no reservations after looking at these pictures. She looks scary, menacing and little unhinged in these photos. She’ll be a perfect Lisbeth.
