Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and crew stranded on island while filming Twilight: Breaking Dawn

Although possibly not news worthy, I do find this part of filming quite interesting so here goes. During the filming of the honeymoon sequence of TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN, the cast and crew were stranded on a little island off the coast of Brazil due to a huge rainstorm. Director Bill Condon claims this to be one of his most memorable film moments:

It was incredible. We got caught in the middle of this huge rainstorm — I’ll remember it forever. Eighty people sleeping on the floor of the set. We couldn’t leave.

Obviously we’re glad that no one was hurt, but that’s actually kind of cool. To experience stuff like that while filming is why making movies is so magical to so many people. Not many people get to have adventures like actors, directors and film crews, so we have to live vicariously through them-which is what we’re doing now. I know lots of fans (both genders) would love to be trapped on a small island with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN PART 1 opens in theaters on November 18th, 2011.
