James Fanco, Benicio Del Toro and Michael Shannon team up for The Iceman

Millennium Films and Bleiberg Entertainment are teaming up for the serial killer thriller THE ICEMAN. The film (based on a true story) will star Michael Shannon as Richard Kuklinski a mob contracted killer who was known for killing his victims and then freezing their bodies so that the police couldn’t determine the exact time of death. It’s been estimated that he killed over 100 people during his spree all the while keeping up his other life as devoted family man and hard worker. Benicio Del Toro will portray Roy Demeo, the mobster that employed Kuklinski and James Franco will play his mentor Mr. Softee. The film will be based on the book The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer by Anthony Bruno and the film will be directed by Ariel Vromen. No word on when production or filming will begin.
Sound interesting. I think Showtime’s DEXTER made serial killers cool so I wouldn’t be surprised to see many of these types of films come down the pipeline in the next couple of years.
