Benjamin Walker lands presidential role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Benjamin Walker has landed the coveted role of Abraham Lincoln in the upcoming Seth Grahame-Smith adaptation ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. Walker has beat out the likes of Adrien Brody, Eric Bana and Josh Lucas for the part of a young  Abe Lincoln who is the best vampire killer of his time and taking revenge on the undead for killing his mother. The film will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov and will be released in 3D.

I’m a little surprised that the studio is going with a virtually unknown actor, but I think it’s a good move. I really like how many less known actors are getting a chance to star in these films. 2010 had quite a few breakout performances in Jennifer Lawrence, Mia Wasikowska and Hailee Steinfeld and it’s nice to see these big studio roles being passed around instead of just given to seasoned veterans.
