Kristen Wiig is the new female face of comedy and she is continuing her strong film presence by starring in producer Judd Apatow’s latest film BRIDESMAIDS. The film centers around Annie (Wiig) who has just been asked by her BFF Lillian (Maya Rudolph) to be the maid of honor in her upcoming wedding. Being a 30-something single gal with a slight chip on her shoulder, Annie clashes with the other bridesmaids and attempts to maintain control of her maid of honor duties from super bridesmaid Helen (Rose Byrne). BRIDESMAIDS is directed by Paul Feig and also stars: Jon Hamm, Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper and Chris O’Dowd and opens in theaters on May 13, 2011.
It took me awhile to warm up to Kristen Wiig and now I’m a huge fan. This film looks like it will easily showcase her many talents and with a producer like Judd Apatow, you know it’s going to be a good time.
