Jason Segel will become an Undercover Cop
Posted by: Kristy Sturdivant
What could be better than Jason Segel playing an undercover cop? The answer is, if he does it during the 1980’s amongst all the pop and bad wardrobes. The project is underway at DreamWorks Studios and Film Rites and the screenplay will be written by Jason Micallef. Plot details are being kept under wrap, but it’s described as being:
inspired by the true story of a former cop that infiltrated the New Jersey criminal underworld in the era of feathered hair, zipper jacketsĀ and “Born in the U.S.A.”
Sounds promising enough to me. That decade doesn’t always translate well into film (see trailer for TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT), but I don’t think Segel can do anything wrong so it should be a fun time. Right now Segel is wrapping up production on THE MUPPETS MOVIE which hits theaters this coming Thanksgiving, and you can also catch him in the upcoming comedy BAD TEACHER which opens in theaters on June 24, 2011.
