Mike Flaherty (Paul Giamatti) is a down on his luck guy who is stressed out and ready to give up. An attorney by day and high school wrestling coach by night, his life is pretty much meaningless until a star athlete shows up on his doorstep. When Kyle Timmons (Alex Shaffer) starts to shine on the wrestling mat, both his and Mike Flaherty’s world start to make sense. That is until Kyle’s dead beat, druggie mother shows up to reclaim her son. This comedy from director Thomas McCarthy looks like one of those films that just makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. WIN WIN opens in theaters on March 18, 2011.
Not that I mind, but has anyone else noticed how many movies Paul Giamatti has been in recently. First it was Michael Caine who took any role offered, then it was Morgan Freeman and now it looks like the torch has been passed to Paul Giamatti. Again, not that I mind, but everyone needs a vacation once in awhile.
