Glee's Ryan Murphy wanted for Annie remake starring Willow Smith

No doubt that everyone has heard the news that Will Smith is looking to kick-start his daughters film career after the success of his sons film THE KARATE KID. He is working with Jay-Z to remake the classic musical ANNIE. And guess who Sony wants as a director? Ryan Murphy, of course. With the overwhelming success of his hit show GLEE he’s now got his pick of film gigs. This is still in the very preliminary stages but Sony definitely wants Murphy, but does Murphy want ANNIE? He also has an option to direct a remake of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW as well as bring WICKED to the big screen so we’ll just have to wait and see what he chooses.
Make no mistake, ANNIE is probably in the running because I’m sure aligning yourself with the Smiths has a lot of advantages-who wouldn’t want Big Willy on their side in that fickle town? Either way, I can’t wait to see what he chooses, because I love GLEE and I want to see more of what Murphy can do.
