Hesher (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a skinny, greasy, cigarette smoking guy who may be the worst influence a kid could ever have…or is he. When he meets and moves in with TJ (Devin Brochu) and his dad (played by Rainn Wilson) who are going through a family crisis, Hesher appears to help them deal with their pain in unexpected ways. Throw Natalie Portman’s character in there (who actually looks mildly unattractive) and you have a coming-of-age type film that is a little rough around the edges. This drama is directed by Spencer Susser and opens in theaters this coming April.
I’m not sure what to make of this film, but my interest is piqued. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is an actor that is pretty much fabulous in whatever film he does as is Natalie Portman, so even though this trailer is a little dark and weird, I’ll be sure to check it out when it makes its way to the screen.
