Neil Patrick Harris in a new photo from The Smurfs

A new photo from the upcoming film THE SMURFS has been published in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, and I’m a little disturbed. I love Neil Patrick Harris in anything he does (he will probably be the one shining beacon in BEASTLY) but so not a fan of guitar players. However, I do love me some Smurfs so the photo is saved- sort of. THE SMURFS follows our tiny blue heroes as they find themselves in New York City and must make their way back to their village and save it from Gargamel (Hank Azaria). Along the way they make human friends like Neil Patrick Harris and Sofia Vergara. THE SMURFS opens in theaters on August 3, 2011.

I’m not gonna lie, I want to see THE SMURFS movie even though it may mean I have to sit in a theater full of kids. But I know in my heart of hearts that it’s probably gonna be a crappy film that will make me regret losing that 1.5 hours, but I’m going to see it anyway. Glutton for punishment right here.
