Angelina Jolie and David Fincher most likely to team up for Cleopatra

Angelina Jolie has been attached to the CLEOPATRA film for several months now but directors have been coming and going until recently. First James Cameron was going to take on a PG-13 version of the film but ended up committing to two more AVATAR movies. Then Paul Greengrass was set to direct but ended up bailing to work on his own project MEMPHIS. Now Sony is looking at trying to nab recent Academy Award nominee David Fincher to direct the film about the infamous Egyptian queen. The only thing that would potentially keep Fincher from doing this project would be scheduling issues. Since he’s currently working on THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO and may direct the sequels (although that’s not a definite) and has a few other projects on the back burner such as 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA: CAPTAIN NEMO, it could be a conflict if Sony wants to move quickly on this film. It’s still up in the air but it would be a great pairing and one I would personally love to see so keep your eyes peeled for more information in the future.

This version of CLEOPATRA will focus not only on the queens sexual appeal, but also her political, warrior and strategist side- can you really think of anyone better than Angelina Jolie to play this role?
