Edgar Ramirez rumored for villain role in Superman reboot

It seems like all of the sudden information regarding the upcoming SUPERMAN reboot from Zack Snyder is being kept under wraps. Since the announcement of who will play Jonathan and Martha Kent (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane) the lid on any other details has been snapped shut. Zack Snyder did confirm that Viggo Mortensen is no longer in the running to play General Zod, but a new rumor has surfaced and involves CLASH OF THE TITANS 2 and CARLOS actor Edgar Ramirez. The speculation is that he will portray a villain in the upcoming reboot, but there’s no telling if it will be Zod or someone else. Like I said, very early rumor stages but it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
Since I didn’t see the mini-series CARLOS, it’s hard for me to say whether or not Ramirez would be any good as a villain. With that said he is playing a bad guy in the CLASH OF THE TITANS sequel and he may be so good Warner Bros. wanted to see him in another villain role.
