John Travolta and Nicolas Cage may get back together for a couple of films

My dreams from 1998 are finally coming true: John Travolta and Nicolas Cage may reunite for an action film. I didn’t think it would ever happen, of course I never thought Nicolas Cage and John Travolta would take roles in such crap like WILD HOGS or KNOWING and become household jokes, but I digress. The dynamic duo that gave us FACE/OFF may re-team for two films, the first being SHRAPNEL which is an action film about a Bosnian soldier who is on a vengeful path against an America soldier who wounded him. Originally, John McTiernan was set to direct but then he went to jail and there’s no word on who would replace him. The other film would be SEA TRIAL which follows two couples who go on vacation on a yacht only to discover that one of the couples aren’t what they seemed. Ooh, scary. If they go with SHRAPNEL, shooting would begin in June but SEA TRIAL has no set production date.

This may just make my undying love for John Travolta come out of the hole it had crawled into when he did HAIRSPRAY. I have such fond memories of Travolta when he did FACE/OFF and BROKEN ARROW and he gave me a little hope when he did THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123 and FROM PARIS WITH LOVE, but it just wasn’t enough. So I will keep my fingers crossed that they re-team on an action film that does not involve anything supernatural, cause I know you have a thing for that Mr. Cage.
