Armie Hammer and Saoirse Ronan up for The Brothers Grimm: Snow White
Posted by: Brad Sturdivant
Probably smelling blood in the water after their rival project suffered the news that Viggo Mortensen was dropping out, Relativity Media was quick to announce that Armie Hammer has officially signed on to their Snow White project, called THE BROTHERS GRIMM: SNOW WHITE. The two projects (the other called SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN) have been racing to the finish line, many believing that Grimm has the upper hand since they plan on releasing theirs nearly 6 months earlier, on June 29th, 2012. What makes the case stronger is that they have it-boy Armie Hammer and look set to cast future household name Saoirse Ronan in the lead role.
Relativity says this about the film: “After her evil stepmother kills her father and destroys the kingdom, Snow White bands together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarfs to reclaim what is rightly hers..” They also say the film will be full of action and comedy, which is a dangerous mix, but could be good if done properly. Julia Roberts is set to play the Evil Stepmother and Tarsem Singh will be directing.
