Thomas McDonell will be a young Johnny Depp in Dark Shadows

Another thespian has joined the cast of Tim Burton’s upcoming vampire film DARK SHADOWS, in the form of young actor Thomas McDonell (PROM). McDonell will portray a young Johnny Depp, or a young Barnabas Collins, to be more specific. Thomas McDonell is apparently known around town as the “young Depp”, although that may be based on looks alone as I have yet to see him act in anything. McDonell will join a cast that includes: Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Bella Heathcoate, Helena Bonham Carter, Jackie Earl Haley, Eva Green and potentially Michael Sheen. Production is supposed to start next month.
I’ll be interested to hear your opinions on whether or not McDonell really looks like Johnny Depp, or if it’s just the hair. I suppose there are a few similarities, but then again when you squint your eyes and lean your head to the left, a lot of people look alike.
