Christopher Nolan heading to Pittsburgh to shoot The Dark Knight Rises

Look out Pittsburgh, The Caped Crusader is heading your way! Director Christopher Nolan has announced that filming for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will take place in Pittsburgh starting this summer. Nolan says,”Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman.” No firm locations in The City of Bridges, but Nolan was drawn to the architecture and the downtown area, so Pittsburgh residents should keep an eye out this summer.Shooting will last four to six weeks so if you live or work downtown it may be a good idea to start mapping out alternate routes now.
THE DARK KNIGHTS RISES will star: Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Juno Temple, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. It’s set to open in theaters July 20, 2012.
