Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton in the trailer for Warrior

The trailer for the Gavin O’Connor directed film WARRIOR has just been released and it looks alright. The film stars Tom Hardy (INCEPTION), Joel Edgerton (ANIMAL KINGDOM), Jennifer Morrison (TV’s ‘House, M.D.), Nick Nolte and Noah Emmerich. It follows a man (Hardy) who returns home and has his alcoholic father (Nolte) train him for an upcoming mixed martial arts competition where he ends up fighting his older brother (Edgerton). WARRIOR opens in theaters on September 9, 2011.
Although this trailer was put together well, it looked too similar to THE FIGHTER for me. Plus, I’m not really familiar with the world of mixed martial arts, so maybe if I was more in tune I would be more interested. However, I was glad to see Jennifer Morrison get a decent film role and Tom Hardy is pretty excellent in whatever he’s in so I’m sure I’ll end up liking this. Check out the trailer below.
