Russell Brand officially boards Rock of Ages but Amy Adams backs out

Good news and bad news for the upcoming musical ROCK OF AGES. Good news is that Adam Shankman has confirmed that Russell Brand will be joining the cast and will play Lonny who is the guy running the 80’s rock club for the owner (played by Alec Baldwin). Bad news is that Amy Adams, who was going to play the journalist bent on exposing rock star Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) but ends up falling into bed with him, is officially off the roster. Her schedule for the upcoming Zack Snyder Superman film MAN OF STEEL had a conflicting schedule. So producer/director Adam Shankman is on the hunt for another talented actress who has the presence to belt out a duet with Tom Cruise, any suggestions out there?

ROCK OF AGES is set to start shooting this summer and will star: Russell Brand, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough and Diego González Boneta.
