Jeremy Renner working on Steve McQueen biopic

Jeremy Renner is about as busy as James Franco these days. With several films on the horizon that include: MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL, THE AVENGERS, THE BOURNE LEGACY, HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS and ICE AGE 4 (that just doesn’t belong on that list), you would think the guy would take a break but oh no. Renner has just formed his own production company (what actor hasn’t) called The Combine and his first project will be a biopic about Steve McQueen. He already has a screenwriter on the job in the form of James Gray (WE OWN THE NIGHT) who will be penning the script off of two books entitled “Portrait of an American Rebel” and “The Life and Legend of a Hollywood Icon” by Marshall Terrill with Ivan Zacharias directing the film. The books delve into the quite full life Mr. McQueen had, from his time in the Marines to his path towards Hollywood leading man. It should be quite the interesting project, but don’t look for it anytime in the next year or so…after all, look at that list Renner has to whittle down before he starts a new project.
