Rob Marshall’s film PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES opens in just a few short weeks and Disney has kindly released more photos to get you even more interested in the film. This time we are following Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) who is teaming up with Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) to search out the fountain of youth before Blackbeard (Ian McShane) and his daughter (Penelope Cruz) find it. Along the way we run into some new people and creatures one is newcomer Astrid Berges-Frisbey who plays the mermaid Syrena. This mermaid must have a much bigger part than I initially thought because Ms. Berges-Frisbey is in several shots. I know they elude to needing a mermaid in the trailers but I didn’t think it would be such a large role. Oh, well you live you learn.
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES opens in theaters on May 20, 2011 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D. Kicking off the summer with a pirate movie doesn’t sound too bad, does it?
