Today we are getting a first look at Jennifer Lawrence who will play the main character Katniss Everdeen in THE HUNGER GAMES from director Gary Ross. Do I even need to tell you guys how excited I am? I didn’t think so. If you’ve been following our seemingly obsessive news reporting about this film (which will become a trilogy if it succeeds) you know that Jennifer Lawrence will star alongside Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson (pretty sure this is because of FB Rena and myself) and Elizabeth Banks. Now technically filming has yet to begin, but since all the casting has been set Lionsgate needs to keep the ball rolling on the marketing side which is why Entertainment Weekly has published this cover. Come this fall we’ll no doubt start seeing set shots as well as some trailers so stay tuned.
THE HUNGER GAMES is set for release on March 23, 2012. After seeing this picture I can’t think of a better actress to play Katniss Everdeen, what do you think?
